Getting started on cigt
Sign in with your ci.me account, then work through your first day — welcome points, notifications, and installing the app.
Sign in with ci.me
cigt uses your ci.me account to sign in. There is no separate signup and no new password to create. Once you finish signing in, you land back on the page you were reading.
- Your nickname and profile picture come from ci.me. Change them there and cigt follows
- The portal, chat, and games share one account. Signing in once opens all three
- You can browse without signing in, but points, follows, and notifications need an account
ci.me is the only way in. There is no other kind of account you can sign up with on cigt.
Welcome points
Your first sign-in comes with 20,000P in welcome points. They do not all arrive at once: you get 2,000P right away, and the rest is spread over 3 days.
- Only one instalment lands per day, so collecting all of it means coming back on separate days
- Skipping a day costs you nothing. Come back later and you receive that day's instalment then
- What you have received, what is left, and the next amount are shown right under your balance on your profile page
Welcome points are granted once per account. Signing out and back in does not hand them out again.
Your first day
- 1Sign in with your ci.me account.
- 2Check the card at the top of the home page — it names the one thing to do next.
- 3Follow the tour and open a live stream, a post, and chat in turn.
- 4Follow a channel you like. Everything new from channels you follow collects on the Following page.
- 5Open your profile page, look at today's quests, and claim the finished ones in one go.
- 6Review your notification settings, and install the app if you expect to use cigt often.
After the tour comes the settle-in quest: follow a channel, pull one card, and check the calendar. The order does not matter, each item can be skipped, and if you close the card it comes back once you do one of them.
Pulling a card spends points. If your free pull for the day is already used, the cost comes out of your balance, and the result cannot be undone. The pull screen tells you the cost before you confirm.
Your profile page
Your profile page gathers your point balance, your tier, and the history of points coming in and going out. The tier rises with your balance, and the page also shows how far the next tier is.
- Today's quests — daily and weekly tasks, with one button to claim everything finished
- Who you follow and who follows you, the titles you own, and the people you have blocked
- Tax — your current rate, what it is based on, and which actions it applies to
- Your invite link, and the box for entering an invite code you received
- Notification settings, translation settings, and support enquiries
Translation settings live on the device you are using, not on the server. On a new device you need to set them up again.
Notifications and installing the app
New notifications show up as a count on the bell at the top of the screen. Opening one in the inbox marks it read and takes you to the post or page it points at. There is also a button that marks everything read at once.
- Choose which notifications you want, by type, in the notification settings on your profile page
- Every type is on until you turn it off
- The cigt notifier also delivers them over chat. Types you switched off do not arrive there either
If you use cigt often, you can install it as an app. The desktop app is on the download page, and macOS has separate builds for Apple Silicon and Intel — pick the one that matches your machine. You can check which you have under 'About This Mac' in the Apple menu.
If Windows warns about an unknown publisher, choose 'More info' and then 'Run'. On a phone, install it from your browser menu with 'Add to Home Screen'. On iPhone and iPad, add it from Safari and open it as an app — otherwise notifications will not reach you.
Common questions
I only received a small part of the welcome points.
That is how they are paid out. You get a portion up front and the rest arrives one instalment a day. The remaining instalments and the next amount are shown under your balance on your profile page.
I missed a few days — do the remaining points expire?
No. The next time you come back you receive that day's instalment, and the one after it on another day. You cannot collect several missed instalments in a single day.
Where do I change my nickname or profile picture?
On ci.me. cigt reads your ci.me profile, so a change there carries over to cigt.
I am signed in but no notifications arrive.
Check that the types you want are switched on in the notification settings on your profile page. To get them as device notifications, install the app and allow notifications there.
