Raising a pet and the pet dex
Every channel has one pet that its crew feeds and pets together. The activity you build up decides how it evolves and how it looks.
The pet belongs to the whole crew
A channel has one pet, shown on the channel home. Anyone can look at it, but only the channel owner and approved crew members can feed or pet it. One pet is raised by many people, so it grows no matter which of you takes care of it.
A channel with no pet yet hatches one on the crew's first activity. Feeding is one way, but a message in the crew chat room or a post on the channel hatches it too. The channel owner names it. In the crew chat room you can also check on it with !펫 and care for it with !먹이 and !쓰다듬기.
A channel group has one pet of its own. Approved group crew members and the owners of the channels in the group can feed and pet it, and one of those channel owners gives it its name. Channel activity such as chat, posts and games does not flow to a group, so a group pet grows on feeding and petting alone.
If a group is disbanded, its pet's clock stops. The empty stretch is not counted as time spent hungry, so progress picks up where it left off if the group comes back.
Stages and experience
A pet starts as a baby and evolves twice. It evolves on the spot as soon as its total experience passes the threshold for the next stage.
Each evolution draws one trait, weighted by everything the crew has done so far. The more of an activity you did, the likelier that trait is — but it is never guaranteed. Traits it already has are excluded, so every stage adds a different one. Traits go into the pet's title and show up as moves on its card.
- Messages in the crew chat room — capped per hour so spam does not raise it
- Posts on the channel — posts with images and long posts also build trait records
- A requested song actually being sung
- Finishing a round of a game
- Boosts you send to another channel — the sender's pet grows, not the channel that received it
- Feeding and petting
While the channel is boosted, incoming experience is multiplied. An evolved form may also be turned into a card — unless the channel has opted out of appearing on cards.
Satiety — an unfed pet stops growing
Satiety drops slowly over time. Below a certain point the pet is hungry, and at the bottom it is starving. A hungry pet only banks half the experience; a starving one banks none and loses total experience as the hours pass.
A starving pet does not die, and the stage, traits, looks and relic it already has are never taken back. The only thing that slips is progress toward the next stage, and even that never falls below the threshold of the current stage. Feed it and everything is back to normal at once.
- There are two foods, a snack and a feast; the feast gives more satiety and more experience
- Petting costs no points but has a cooldown per person
- When the pet gets hungry, the channel owner and every approved crew member are notified — once a day, not repeatedly for the same state
- When satiety runs low and the channel vault has a balance, a channel pet helps itself to a snack from it and never touches your personal points. Groups have no vault, so a group pet has no such safety net
- Upkeep is shared across the crew, so one person a day is enough
Points spent on food are burned and never come back. This is daily upkeep, not a deposit you can withdraw.
Looks and rerolling
Hatching decides the species and the first look. Species differ in rarity, and now and then a pet is born with a color or a pattern already. After that, individual mutations unlock in a fixed order: color, then pattern, then finish. Every time experience reaches another milestone the pet gets one roll for the next step up, which may or may not land.
Apart from the species rarity, the individual tier comes from that ladder: color makes it rare, pattern epic, and finish legendary. That is the tier printed on the pet card you see on the channel home and in the dex.
A channel owner who is unhappy with the look can reroll it for points. There are two modes. The default moves one step from the current grade — staying put is the most common outcome, and going up is exactly as likely as going down. The cheaper mode throws the current grade away and draws again from scratch, so it is likelier to end up lower. Either way the species is drawn again too.
A reroll cannot be cancelled or refunded, and the grade can drop. Even a pet you raised all the way to a finish can come back with no mutation at all.
Relics and the pet dex
Relics are limited collectibles: each kind can only ever be made in a fixed quantity. One that reaches you carries the serial number it was issued under, and it adds to the stats shown on the card.
- A pet wears one relic at a time. A pet that already has one never draws another
- There are three places a relic can turn up — a draw each time experience hits another milestone, a draw when a long enough broadcast ends, and picking up the relic a boss drops during a Last Signal run played without reviving
- The fewer of a relic are left, the less likely it is to be drawn
The pet dex shows every species and relic that can appear. You can search by name and filter by rarity, and what you picked stays in the address, so a refresh or a shared link opens the same view.
- Open a species to see its three-stage evolution line
- Mix color, pattern, finish and relic yourself to preview a combination, and tap the resulting card to flip it
- Further down, the legendary relics are listed with how many exist
Common questions
Does everyone get their own pet?
No. There is one per channel and the crew raises it together. Whoever feeds it, the same pet's satiety and experience go up.
Do I lose the pet if I miss a few days?
No. A starving pet does not die, and its stage, traits, looks and relic stay put. The only thing that stalls or slips is progress toward the next stage, and it recovers the moment you feed it.
Can I find my own pet in the dex?
The dex is a catalogue of the species and relics that can appear, so individual pets are not listed there. Your channel's pet lives on the channel home.
Does rerolling make the pet better?
There is no guarantee. Even the default mode can lower the grade, and the cheaper mode is likelier to. If you would miss the current look, it is better not to roll.
