Groups
Several channels sit under one group and are presented together, and fans can join the group directly as group crew.
A group is a set of channels
A group ties several channels together. The channel that creates it becomes the leader, and other channels join by invitation. The group home shows the member channels alongside this week's schedule.
- Members are channels, not people — the channel's owner has to accept
- People without a channel can still join the group directly as group crew
- Being in a group never lets you edit another channel's name, bio, or schedule
Anyone can view a group home. You can follow a group you like, and its schedule can be added to a calendar app through a subscription address.
Creating a group
Only people who own a channel can create a group. If you have none, the creation screen points you to channel creation instead. You set three things: the group name, the group address, and a description.
- 1Open group creation from the groups screen
- 2Type the group name — an address is suggested as you type
- 3Check the address: lowercase letters, digits, and hyphens only
- 4Write the description and create; your channel becomes the leader
The group address cannot be changed after creation. It becomes the link to the group page, so check it before you confirm. Addresses already in use or reserved cannot be chosen.
There is a cap on how many groups one channel can lead at the same time. Past it, creation is refused and the screen tells you why.
Invitations, in and out
Members only grow through the leader's invitations. The leader finds a channel by name or address and sends an invite; that channel's owner has to accept before it becomes a member. Invitations you receive appear under "Invitations received" on the groups screen; you follow that through to the group home, where the accept and decline buttons are.
- Sent invitations carry a status such as waiting, declined, or withdrawn
- There is a cap on invitations still waiting for an answer — withdraw a few to send more
- Finished invitations only stay for a while and then drop off the list
- Once the group is at capacity, no further invitations can be sent
- A member channel can leave from the group home at any time — only the leader has to hand over or disband instead
An invite link with a code in it is a friend invite code, not a group invitation. Opening the link applies nothing on its own — you sign in and press the button once.
A friend invite code only works while an account is still new, and only once per account. You cannot redeem your own code. When it goes through, both the inviter and the invited receive points.
Around the group screens
| Tab | What you see |
|---|---|
| Home | A preview of members, who is live now, this week's schedule |
| Schedule | Events held under the group's name, plus the member channels' weekly table |
| Members | The member channel list and the group crew |
| Group cards | Cards that depict this group — only the leader registers them, and a member opting out blocks it |
In the weekly table, columns are days and rows are member channels. An empty cell does not mean a day off; it means nothing has been entered yet. Only events each channel owner put in their own calendar appear there.
Settings is not a tab but a separate screen only the leader opens. Name, description, banner, member order, invitations, removal, leader handover, and disbanding all live there. Even the leader cannot touch a member channel's name, profile, bio, or schedule.
Handing over the leader role and disbanding a group cannot be undone. After a handover you can no longer open the settings screen; after a disband the group home is gone and every membership ends with it.
Joining as group crew
Group crew is a person joining the group directly, rather than a channel. You apply from the Members tab, and once you are crew the crew lounge opens. Owners of member channels already qualify, so they do not need to join separately.
- There are two join modes — leader approval and join right away. Approval is the default
- Under approval you wait after applying until the leader reviews it
- Seats are capped and the remaining count is shown. When they run out, joining is blocked
- If too many applications are waiting, you can apply again after the leader clears a few
Group crew does not come with channel titles or a channel vault. Those stay per channel.
No notification is sent to the leader when someone applies. The leader has to open the settings screen to see applications, so a slow approval does not mean you were rejected.
Common questions
Can I change the group address later?
No. The only way to use a different address is to create a new group. That is why the creation screen shows the address up front and makes you confirm it.
Can I join a group without a channel?
You can join as group crew. Joining as a member channel, or creating a group yourself, requires a channel.
Does being group crew make me crew of the member channels too?
No. Group crew and channel crew are separate memberships. The two numbers side by side on the Members tab are also different things: how many people joined this group, and how many crew the member channels have.
I want to stop being the leader.
A leader cannot simply leave. You either hand the leader role to another member channel or disband the group. A channel that has not accepted its invitation yet cannot receive the handover.
