Explore and following
How to find channels in Explore, and how to read what the channels you follow post — including the content mirrored from ci.me.
Finding channels in Explore
Explore is where you find channels. The search box at the top takes you to the search page. Below it come three groups.
- All channels — ordered by follower count. Open the full list to keep scrolling
- Categories — the categories of ci.me streams that are live right now. Tapping one opens the live list filtered to it
- Rising channels — ci.me channels whose follower count grew quickly over the past week. Their cards carry a NEW badge
Rising channels favour channels that are growing fast rather than channels that are already large: the order comes from the rate of growth, not from the raw number of new followers.
Some channels exist on ci.me but have not created a cigt channel yet. Their cards show an outbound arrow next to the name, and tapping one opens that channel on ci.me in a new tab instead of a cigt channel home. Following applies to cigt channels, so those cards have no follow button.
Following a channel, and the following page
Use the follow button on a channel card or channel home to follow a channel, and what it posts gathers on the following page. That page is personal to you, so it requires signing in.
The row across the top shows the channels you follow that are streaming right now, ordered by viewer count. It stays in place whichever tab you are on.
| Tab | What it shows |
|---|---|
| cigt | Posts the channels you follow wrote on cigt itself |
| ci.me | Posts collected from ci.me, plus clips and videos |
Both tabs are ordered by the time each item went up, and scrolling down loads the next batch. If you follow no channels at all, the tabs are replaced by a prompt to go and explore.
The ci.me content lists
The ci.me content page shows the lives, clips, videos, and posts collected from ci.me. The first screen is a preview of all four lists, and the tabs at the top open each list in full.
| List | Sorting you can choose |
|---|---|
| Live | Live now · Hot lives today (and you can narrow by category) |
| Clips · Videos | Rising · Popular · Latest |
| Posts | Latest · Rising |
Choosing Rising — or Hot lives today on the live list — adds a period row: today, this week, or this month. The live, clip, and video lists have one more row for All and Following, so you can narrow the list to the channels you follow while keeping the sort and category you picked.
Narrowing to Following requires signing in. Content that needs an age check does not appear in these lists or in search.
Opening one piece of ci.me content
Tapping an item does not send you straight out to ci.me — it opens inside cigt first. The thumbnail, the channel, the viewer count, and the likes and comments the original has on ci.me are all shown here.
- Watch on ci.me — Go to live while a stream is on — opens the original in a new tab, and the line below counts how many times people have gone across
- Likes and saves are kept on the cigt side — they are counted separately from the numbers on the original
- You cannot write a new comment here. The original lives on ci.me, so comments go there
If the same content also went up as a post on a channel board, you are taken to that post instead. It is folded into one place so the same thing does not appear in two shapes.
Reading notices
The notices page lists operator notices and channel notices together. Operator notices come first, each group newest first, and above the title sits either an official-notice badge or the name of the channel that posted it.
- Tapping a channel notice takes you to that post on the channel
- Tapping an operator notice opens the notice page with the full text
- Operator notices accept reactions and comments, and a translate button appears when the text is not in your language
A reaction you leave without signing in cannot be taken back. If you may want to undo it, sign in first.
Comments can only be written while signed in, and an individual notice may have comments closed.
Common questions
I follow channels, but my following page is empty.
The cigt tab only shows posts written on cigt itself. Clips, videos, and posts collected from ci.me live in the ci.me tab. If both are empty, the channels you follow simply have nothing new yet.
I tapped a channel and ci.me opened instead of cigt.
That channel exists on ci.me but has not created a cigt channel yet. The arrow next to its name marks it, and for the same reason the card has no follow button.
I cannot comment on a ci.me clip.
The original is on ci.me, so cigt does not take new comments on it. Use Watch on ci.me and comment on the original. Liking and saving still work here.
I chose Following on a list and got nothing.
If you are not signed in you get a prompt to sign in; if you are, it means the channels you follow have none of that kind of content yet. One link sits in the same place either way: back to the full list before you sign in, and off to find more channels once you have.
