The commissions board

Commissions is a board where creators and clients find each other. There are two kinds of post: "Open for work", from someone offering to take a job, and "Looking for a creator", from someone who needs one.

• There are seven fields: illustration, characters, logos and BI, emotes, video and editing, music and sound, and writing
• You can filter the list by kind, field and status, and sort by recently bumped (the default) or newest
• The filters you pick live in the address, so sharing the link shows the other person the same view

By default the list shows only posts that are still open. Set the status filter to all to see paused and closed posts too.

You do not need to sign in to read posts. Signing in is only needed to post a commission or send an inquiry.

Cigather does not act as a payment intermediary. It never receives, holds, or refunds money. Payment and settlement are entirely between the two of you, and Cigather does not cover losses that arise from them.

• The prices and budgets written in a post are guidance only — the real terms are what the two of you agree on
• Keeping a record of what was agreed saves a lot of arguments later
• You can report a post if something goes wrong, but we cannot settle a payment dispute for you

An open-for-work post must carry the creator's terms. Revision counts, refund rules and delivery times are written by the creator, and they are what a dispute is judged against. The detail page shows them in full instead of hiding them behind a toggle, so read them before you commit.

• Only all-ages work may be posted. Adult commissions are not allowed
• Minors should not pay for anything without a guardian's consent

• Open for work requires creator terms and a number of slots. You can also add price guidance and a turnaround time
• Looking for a creator requires budget guidance. You can also add a preferred due date
• You can attach several sample images. On a "looking for a creator" post they serve as references
• The description and the terms accept simple formatting such as bold, italics and links

The kind cannot be changed after posting. If you picked the wrong one you have to delete the post and write a new one, and a deleted post cannot be brought back.

Each post sets who may message you. There are three choices. If the author has never used Cigather chat there is nowhere to deliver an inquiry, so a note appears in place of the button.

An inquiry starts with a single greeting. A default message is filled in for you, so you can send it as is or rewrite it. After you send it, the request waits until the other person accepts; once they do, the conversation opens. Accepting opens the conversation only — it does not make you friends.

Once you have sent one, the button turns into a waiting state and you cannot send another on the same post; you cannot send one again after being declined either. If you are already friends with that person, or a conversation for that post is already open, your greeting goes straight into it.

My commissions gathers everything you posted in one place. A post is in one of three states: open, paused, or closed.

• Bumping is available only while the post is open. After a bump you have to wait a set period before the next one, and the screen tells you how long is left
• You can pause a post for a while and switch it back to open later
• You can adjust the number of slots on an open-for-work post at any time. Lowering the total lowers the remaining slots with it
• The inquiry button does not open on an open-for-work post whose slots are full, or on a closed post

Once reports pile up past a threshold, an open post is paused automatically. The author is shown why, and the post may be reopened after the operations team reviews it.

Closing keeps the post and only shuts off new inquiries; deleting removes it entirely and cannot be undone. If inquiries have already gone back and forth, close it rather than delete it.
