Card battles, ranking and tournaments
Build a deck, play bots or other people, keep playing through a defense deck while you are away, and carry the record into the rankings and tournaments.
Six tabs in the card hub
The card battle screen is split into six tabs. Two of them are for playing — Battle and Defense — and four are for collecting and tidying cards: Dex, Pull, Collection and Auction. Switching tabs also changes the address, so you can hand someone a link to exactly the tab you are looking at.
- Battle — build a deck and play a bot or another person
- Defense — see the battles your defense deck played and claim the rewards
- Dex — browse every card registered so far
- Pull — get new cards
- Collection — look through the cards you own and clear out duplicates
- Auction — buy and sell cards
At the top of the hub there is a link to spectating and a link back to the registered cards screen on the portal. Only live battles in progress appear in the spectate list, and hands and decks are hidden from spectators. The spectate link disappears while you are waiting for an opponent, because leaving the screen then means losing the match you were matched into.
If you have fewer than 15 cards for a deck, the Battle tab offers a trial battle instead. It lends you a 15-card deck and costs no points, but a trial battle also pays no points. Win it and you receive 15 starter cards, which you claim yourself on the portal home. Lent cards do not join your collection and cannot be auctioned, dismantled or used as a defense deck.
Bot battles and expeditions
The Battle tab has two modes: bot battles and PvP. Either way you need a full 15-card deck to start, and picking a recommended style fills the deck automatically from the cards you own. In a bot battle you choose the opponent yourself, and because opponents differ in difficulty, beating a harder one pays a larger win reward.
- Bot battles have an entry fee. The amount is written on the start button, and an expedition ticket is used first if you have one — otherwise the fee comes out of your points
- An expedition is a win-streak run. Opponents get stronger as you win, and one loss ends the run there
- Expeditions are limited per day and refill at midnight Korean time. You can also buy tickets to play more
- Streak bonuses pay once per day per tier. The tiers currently in effect and their amounts are shown above the start button
Entry fees and ticket purchases leave your points the moment you press the button and cannot be undone. The screen shows the amount before you start, so check it first.
Live PvP
Press find opponent and you join the queue; once an opponent is found, both sides have to accept before the battle starts. The window to accept is short, so you can switch on match notifications and sound. If you leave the screen while waiting, you lose the match you were matched into.
The screen tells you everything before you press. How many people are playing live right now, what a win, a draw and a loss pay, and where your battle fatigue currently sits are all shown above the start button. Reward amounts can be adjusted by operations, so the screen always draws the values the server sent.
- Playing several battles in a row raises fatigue and lowers the share of the reward; in the rest window a battle pays nothing at all. Fatigue recovers over time
- There is a daily cap on the points you can earn from card battles
- A room made with an invite code is always a friendly — it pays no points and only leaves a record and a rating change
- The ranked lobby is for matching minigames solo, in pairs or in teams; games that seat only two players offer solo matching only. Card battle opponents are found on the card screen
Defense deck challenges and the results inbox
This is the mode you can play when nobody else is online. You pick a defense deck someone has left up and play it immediately with no waiting, and your daily challenge count refills at midnight Korean time. If a battle is still unfinished, you have to finish it before a new challenge opens.
Once your own defense deck is up, other people can challenge it even while you are offline. The 15 cards are frozen exactly as they were when you registered them, so if you change your deck you have to register it again. Leave no defense deck up and nobody can challenge you.
- The reward for a battle you challenged arrives right where the battle ends
- The reward for a battle your defense deck played is not paid automatically — you claim it in the results inbox
- When your defense deck plays a battle you get a notification, and it leads to the results inbox
- Defense challenges do not count toward the ranking score or your PvP record; they stay in the challenge history and the results inbox
A finished battle can be replayed from the results inbox for 30 days. After that only the record remains and the replay is no longer available.
Rankings and tournaments
The ranking screen is split by axis. Minigames, card battles, Last Signal, game points and your own record each get a tab, and tournaments are a tab that takes you to their own screen. The card battle axis holds two rankings of different kinds side by side. Rating moves only in live PvP, and until you finish your placement battles the screen shows how far along placement is instead of a tier, while the season best streak counts how many battles you won in a row on expeditions — playing more battles alone does not raise it.
- 1Pick a tournament from the list
- 2Press apply
- 3Check in when check-in opens — for a card battle tournament you choose the saved deck you will use here
- 4Find your opponent and the match status on the bracket, then play
You can run a tournament yourself if you have a channel or group you manage, setting the game, capacity, number of games, and check-in and start times. Results are settled in one of two ways. With automatic results the outcome goes straight into the bracket when the match ends — card battles through the battle linked to the tournament match, other games by binding a room code to the bracket. With manual results both players submit a winner, and the result is confirmed only when the two submissions agree; if they differ it stays disputed for the organizer to look at.
Point prizes are held in the organizing channel's vault in advance and paid out automatically to 1st, 2nd and 3rd place in fixed shares once the result is confirmed. Prizes that are not points are not shipped by the service — the organizer contacts the top three directly to arrange delivery.
Common questions
How are bot battles different from PvP?
A bot battle costs an entry fee, can be started alone at any time, and pays a win reward that follows the difficulty of the opponent you chose. PvP makes you wait for a person, but it moves your rating and has its own reward table. If you would rather not wait, defense deck challenges sit in between.
Do rewards pile up on their own while my defense deck is up?
Battles are played, but the rewards do not arrive by themselves. The results collect in the inbox and are only paid when you claim them there.
I won a trial battle but no points arrived.
Trial battles pay no points. What a win gives you instead is 15 starter cards, and you claim them yourself on the portal home.
How do I receive a tournament prize that is not points?
For prizes that are not points, the organizer contacts 1st, 2nd and 3rd place directly and explains how the prize will be delivered. The service does not send it on their behalf.
